Caernarfon Commonwealth day was a great success

I AM sending a word of congratulations to Ms Kathryn Owen as town clerk of the Royal Borough of Caernarfon for the splendid organisations you did with the Commonwealth Baton Relay through the town on Monday, November 9.

I was pleased to be an onlooker on a dry winter day and see great stars of the past of the Welsh sporting scene like champion former ABA boxer Dave Davies of Bangor, athlete Dr David Roberts of Bangor and Dave Brailsford the champion cyclist of Deiniolen, amongst the glittering array of celebrities.

It was a day on the Maes and in the Castell that will live long in one’s memory.

Heartfelt thanks to you all for making such an excellent day for everybody.
