ALTHOUGH Llangefni ran out convincing winners the final scoreline at Cae Smyrna did not do justice to the outstanding defensive efforts of Dinbych.

It was only 6-3 at half time to the Anglesey side, Arwel Roberts kicking two penalties for Cefni and Jamie Winning replying for the visitors.

The home pack was dominant, but Dinbych put up some tremendous resistance.

Early in the second half Roberts added a third home penalty, but the islanders continued to be frustrated by the outstanding away defence.

Llangefni finally got some breathing space on the hour when they were awarded a penalty try for an offence by the Dinbych pack.

Roberts converted and added another two points to the two late tries from Wil Owen and Rhodri Gray.
