IT was a case of family fortunes when the Bucklands – three of them – starred in Bangor City’s convincing 10-2 win, which confirmed them as promotion favourites within the Anglesey/Bangor and District Bowls League’s Wednesday competition.
Lowly-placed Beaumaris B were on the receiving end, and star performers were Gwerydd Buckland at 21-3, brother Gary 21-6 and nephew Cayl 21-9.
An intriguing 6-6 draw resulted when Llanfairpwll B played Bethesda B, after the hosts had trailed 4-6 in games but claimed the bonus – and parity overall – because of a 176-175 aggregate advantage, Dion Owen leading on 21-6.
Penygroes went second in Division Two as reward for a 10-2 romp against Menai Bridge, best card Ken Frazer 21-7.
