GWYNEDD’S 21-15 victory over Merseyside moved them away from the relegation zone in division three of the British Inter County Darts Championship.
The fixture at Wellmans, Llangefni, saw the hosts’ Women’s A triumph 5-1 and the Men’s A fight back to draw their match from 6-3 down.
For the ladies Gaynor Williams, Sue Davies (Pwllheli), Jacky Blanks (Harlech), Michelle Williams and Natalie Davies from Llandegfan ran out winners, while victorious for the males were Charlie Stimpson, Jim Dorenbos, Ifor Davies, Welsh captain Martin Phillips, Carwyn Moss Jones (Penygroes) and Gethin Lewis (Caernarfon).
The Men’s B deserved their 7-5 verdict, George Bell, Meirion Jones (Bethesda), Paul Hankin (Talysarn), James Jones (Pwllheli), Colin Hedley (Llangefni) and Bangor’s Gwyn Thomas and Stephen Roberts prevailing.
Women’s B had to settle for a 3-3 draw in a match they should have won comfortably, Jane Brownley (Caernarfon), Tracy Kearns and Paula Jones (Pwllheli) in winning form.
Worcestershire away on January 17 and 18 is the next match.
ALUN Pritchard’s 3-2 win over Dylan Williams rounded off Foelas Arms’ 8-0 home drubbing of basement side Twthill, which sees the Pentrefoelas outfit return to the top of Gwynedd Men’s Superleague.

Norman Jones’ last set 23.86 average win saw the Wellmans clinch a 5-3 victory over Penrhyn Arms after they had trailed 3-1 at the halfway stage. Glen Roberts, David Jones, Ronald Thomas and Kelvin Roberts also succeeded for the Social Club.
Unicorn Dolgellau beat Penrhyn Arms 5-3 while Holyhead side the Foresters went down 6-2 at Penrhynside despite wins for John Aston and Ian Barry.
