Football: Amlwch Town FC appoint Jones as manager

AMLWCH Town have appointed Adrian Jones as their new player-manager.

Jones was a member of the successful Amlwch side that climbed from the Anglesey League to the Cymru Alliance before moving on to Llangefni Town where he played in the Welsh Premier.

Also returning to the club is Eryl Jones who will be Adrian Jones’ assistant.

Eryl was an experienced striker who has managerial background with Llangefni Reserves.

The new regime kicks off this Thursday with pre-season training at Lon Bach at 6.45pm where all players are welcome, old and new.

Amlwch Town’s end-of-season presentation evening was held last week at the King’s Head. Awards were as follows: Supporters’ Player of the Year – Ben Jones; Committee’s Player – Alun Roberts; Manager’s Player – Ben Jones; Players’ Player – Ben Jones; Top Scorer – Alun Roberts & Pat Roberts; Jo Howden Cup – Tomos Hughes

The club’s AGM will be held at the Lon Bach Pavilion on Sunday, July 5, at 7pm.

Anyone interested in assisting with the running of the club in any capacity for the 2009/10 season will be most welcome.
