POETRY and music come together at the Ucheldre Centre in Holyhead on Friday, December 4, as the venue plays host to two award-winning poets and an acclaimed Welsh guitarist.
Tiffany Atkinson is an accomplished and established poet, having won the 2001 Academi Cardiff International Poetry Competition and been published widely in magazines. She has lived in Wales since starting a PhD in 1993 at Cardiff University, and now lectures in English at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
Paul Henry was born in Aberystwyth, and is now based in Gwent. Described as "a poet’s poet", he has published five collections with Seren, and appeared in journals as diverse as Poetry Wales and the Times Literary Supplement. Originally a singer-songwriter, he has read and performed at writers’ centres, festivals and universities across the UK and Europe, and currently presents the ‘Inspired’ series of arts programmes for BBC Radio Wales.
Dylan Fowler has been playing the guitar since he was 17, and is largely self-taught. He has appeared at the Edinburgh festival, as well as numerous other festivals in the UK, and has toured the USA. He will provide the musical interludes to Tiffany and Paul’s poetry.
The evening begins at 7.15pm, tickets £3 (concessions £2).
