Calan to play Galeri, Caernarfon

DYNAMIC local Welsh folk band Calan will be returning to Galeri, Caernarfon on October 2 following their success at CeltFest in March and the National Eisteddfod.

The group will be joined by Gwyneth Glyn and Brigyn for a ‘CeltFest on Tour’ event which is not to be missed.

Calan is a young, vibrant five- piece band breathing new life into traditional Welsh music with sparkling melodies, foot-tapping tunes and a spirited and energetic interpretations of Welsh step dancing.

The group, who have received excellent reviews from The Mirror and the Belfas Daily Telegraph, blast their way through some of the old well-loved tunes with fast-paced and uplifting arrangements before melting into some beautiful and haunting songs. Calan’s musicians are all in their teens and early twenties, and include local fiddler Patrick Rimes from Bethesda and Llinos Eleri Jones, a Bangor University music student.
