Bangor concert series closes with classical event

THIS year’s Music at Bangor Concert series at Bangor University draws to a close with an evening of classical favourites performed by the University’s very own choirs and orchestras on Friday, June 5, at 7.30pm in the University’s Prichard-Jones Hall.

The concert will be a celebration of the music made this year and will include performances by Bangor University Symphony Orchestra (Sibelius: Finlandia and Tchaikovsky: Romeo and Juliet Overture); Music Society Orchestra (music from Pirates of the Caribbean); Bangor University Chamber Choir (works by William Mathias), and much, much more.

Laura Kestell, concert series officer at Bangor said: ‘This year’s concert series has seen some outstanding performances by the University’s ensembles. "The Gala concert will be an excellent way of displaying the talent we have here in Bangor and bring the 2008-9 series to a lovely close. We hope that as many people as possible will come and join us for an evening of entertainment.’

Tickets cost £10 (concessions £7, students £5), and are available in advance from the Concert Series Officer (01248 382009) or on the door. Families are very welcome: one child is admitted free with every paying adult, and tickets for additional children cost just £2.

A full range of fairtrade refreshments will be available during the interval and a free glass of cava will be provided after the concert.
