GRAMMY-nominated Nashville singer-songwriter, Kim Richey will be heading to the island to showcase her brand of Americana.
Kim Richey will be playing a mix of rock, country and folk songs at the Victoria Hotel in Menai Bridge on April 18.
While many country artists cite a love affair with country music from an early age, Richey admits that the soundtrack to her youth was actually 60s pop, citing Janis Joplin as a particulate favourite.
Kim Richey was fortunate to have an aunt who owned a record shop, where the young songstress had the run of the 45s’ bin. It is fitting, therefore, that Kim appears at the Vic on World Record Store Day - a worldwide celebration of the importance of the independent record shop.
With a versatile and stylish voice, Kim’s music has appeared on TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Angel, in between songwriting with James Morrison and Dixie Chicks.
