Donizetti opera at Neuadd Dwyfor, Pwllheli

DONIZETTI’S The Elixir of Love will be performed at Neuadd Dwyfor in Pwllheli on Tuesday, November 4.

The performance by Swansea City Opera (SCO) is part of their winter/spring 2008/9 season following their highly acclaimed tour of the Magic Flute which finished last year.

For this magical Donizetti comedy, SCO has teamed up with co-producers, Theatr Brycheiniog in Brecon and the Coliseum in Aberdare, and is updating the setting to the late 1920s in the Italianate village of Portmeirion.

It will be sung in a witty English translation and promises a visual spectacle with specially designed 1920s costumes.
