LOCAL psychedelic avant- rock group Ectogram return after something of a lay-off to play a rare gig in the area on Wednesday, October 1, when they will appear at the Anglesey Arms Hotel in Menai Bridge.
Following a brief tour of Italy early this year, the group having been lying low, preparing new material for their forthcoming seventh album, much of which will doubtless be previewed at the gig.
Manchester’s Black Balloons make a swift return to the venue, having gone down well when they appeared there earlier this month.
Balloons main-man Edwin Stevens is also a key player in the much-acclaimed young group Klaus Kinski, who have been gaining something of a buzz in the media recently and who recently released a split EP with Ectogram.
Completing the bill are Nant Ffrancon’s Facefish, making their debut live performance.
The group take inspiration from all manner of raw and direct rock music, from the Stooges to T Rex, with a philosophy of piling rock cliché upon cliché until they achieve the distilled essence of rock ’n’ roll.
The doors open at 8pm and admission will be free to everyone arriving before 9pm!
